1978: Disney makes another in a series of dumb live action flicks it was cranking out at the time. 1982: Steven Spielberg remakes "Cat from outer space" but with bad animatronics, kids and swearing and wins an Oscar. This just goes to show the power of John Williams.

One of my favorite movies to rent when I was a kid. Hands sown, a great movie for young children.

Like too many '70s Disney flicks this mostly looks like an overlong TV sitcom but there are a few laughs and a pleasant cast, including two "M*A*S*H" regulars who never actually met on the TV show. I wonder if the makers of _E.T._ ever saw this?

Definitely a kids movie. The concept itself is ridiculous enough to put off anyone who expects anything truly deep and developed. However on that level, it's actually not bad.

I remember seeing this when i was 6 or 7 and not being all that impressed. I have caught bits and pieces of it since then but will probably have to rewatch it to see exactly how low to score it.

This has a fun innocently low-budget B-movie appeal to it and all the cheesiness kinda works in its favour. It's not a terrible film exactly, more just overly-long and boring, with almost half of the film's run-time dedicated to a side plot about trying to win money from sports gambling, and even more time dedicated to jokes that probably only children would enjoy. Neither bad enough nor good enough to be a cult classic.

I sure am glad they crammed all the "things happening" into the last twenty minutes, I wouldn't have wanted to waste a minute of betting on sporting events!!!

This isn't a good movie but it's dumb fun vintage Disney style. I did get a kick out of all the adult humor sprinkled in this.

It's nothing deep, but still a lot of fun.

The most entertainment value I got out of this was thinking about how the director managed to get the cat to do anything. The cat is not doing anything outlandish, but there's a lot of cute things he does which I'd imagine took some degree of training. That aside, it's mostly a weak comedy but is innocent enough to not be insufferable. Although I can't help but think that so many problems would be avoided if the alien cat just decided to directly talk to every person he meets.

It was entertaining when I was little, but after a rewatch it has become apparent that the production values were set pretty darn low when this was made. Still, it does a decent job of the little investment put into it and provides a decent viewing for kids, but is way too cheesy for anyone else. The fact they tried to use a real cat adds to it a little, but the camp style and some bland moments dull everything down a little. Still as I've mentioned previously, it's good for small kids.

Amusing enough flick from the golden age of Disney live action comedies.

Bizarrely enough it's not outright terrible. Non of the jokes are ever really funny but they're rarely downright terrible at the same time. I can easily see kids being entertained by this movie. But if you're hoping for a Pixar quality family film where every age group is equally entertained this certainly won't fill the bill.

An unforgivably terrible Disney effort. Scene after scene of slapstick nonsense instead of even attempts at charm, adventure or humor.

I remember this being one of my favorites of the Disney Sunday night movies. Turns out I watched this about ten years ago as well. And I still didn't remember a single thing about it. There are a few good sequences (the aerial acrobatics always got this scared-of-heights guy) but there are some other baffling ones for a kids' movie (the extra-long pool hall moments). Anyone over 10 is going to be counting the minutes until it ends, but the younger audience should enjoy it.

I really wanted to like this but nothing about the film says that Disney gave a crap about actually making it.

There are of course more plot holes than cat lives and the powers ebb and flow throughout the film, but this is a mostly charming children's film that I probably would have loved if it had been introduced to me at the right age. It's a bonkers story involving everything from evil scientists to the military to fixed sporting events, and it of course delivers on its title's promise. It has a rather charming cheesy element to it all, like a B movie.

I'm sure this isn't that good but I have fond memories of watching it when I was a child.
