The Cat

A hefty slice of Hong Kong insanity about a girl and her cat from space, that are stranded on earth...for some reason, and have to kill a monster so they can go home...or something. The plot hardly matters as strange sights are continually dished up, including craptastic gore, cheap looking puppets and a giant shape-shifting mind-controlling blob monster. The highlight is a fully choreographed dog vs cat fight that lasts several minutes and is quite possibly the greatest thing I've ever seen.

A bizarre story about aliens coming to Earth to retrieve a weapon needed to fight a different evil alien tree fungus blob monster. Oh, and if that's not enough fun for you, did I mention that the lead good alien is inside the body of a house cat. Although the film is probably most famous for the insanely choreographed must-see cat vs. dog fight. Not as much gore or death as expected, but despite the mess of a plot the weirdness of the premise and the visuals keep the movie entertaining.

This is pretty much "The Hidden" mixed with "The Cat From Outer Space" meets "The Blob" with some '90s Hong Kong wackiness. It's not as good as I expected but it's still a fun 85 minutes.

Mostly technically proficient, but the plot is nonsensical. The English subs are a mess and don't help clarify things. There's not as much gore as you might expect from the director of Riki-Oh; it seems to have been replaced by bad animal puppets. They're the best thing about the movie, because they're terrible and funny. Ultimately it's lackluster in every way: it's bad enough to inspire giggles here and there, but bizarre enough to defy mockery.

This......is a weird Chinese film where aliens disguised as a girl and a rad black cat try to recover a powerful weapon from a museum, but a crazy alien flesh blob attempts to intercept them. A cop tries to help the aliens defeat The Thing and return to their home planet....Fuck. This isn't a good film. The plot's a bit confusing and the special effects are kind of bad, but I enjoyed it immensely.

Nothing good in this movie but the cat v dog fight.

The action scenes are ridiculous, but overall the story is so flat and boring that it was hard to enjoy.
