The Chair is not very different from a lot of haunted house / possession related horror, but it got me on board thanks to some neat shot framing, creative editing and a pretty decent buildup. The film definitely has flaws: overdone musical cues, an exposition spouting character that miraculously turns up near the end, a bit of silly CGI. But I always had the impression the makers gave some sort of a damn about their movie and that scored a lot of goodwill points with me.
