The Charge of the Light Brigade

It does a good job at making you want these characters to take a Russian cannonball to the face. I liked the satirical use of period cartoons to enhance it's anti-war point. The romantic subplot with Vanessa Redgrave feels tacked on, which is a waste.

Despite some dreary romantic scenes, this film, by turns a black-ish comedy and an appalling tragedy, is a masterful dissection of a self-satisfied society deeply riven by snobbery and prejudice. There is clever use of animation, too.
