An okay sequel since I like this setting. Overdone CGI, Teddy got replaced for some reason, and the murderous obese elf (is he fat because he's the bad guy?) gets no consequences at the end. I'll watch Kurt Russell in the Santa suit again. The child actress for Kate improved. Goldie Hawn is so-so as a caring grandmother figure and her power level was OP but never taken advantage of. Fav scene: the sunglass-wearing sax-playing Santa musical number got upgraded to full dance choreography.

Run of the mill yet less bad than the first installment. Julian Dennison is a strange choice for a villain.

An improvement because it has less cringy moments, the acting improved for the kids, and Julian Dennison was great.

Good follow up to the first movie

A more entertaining and thus more enjoyable film than the first instalment, mainly due to the greater presence of Goldie Hawn as well as the quest-based nature of the storyline. It also helps that Chris Columbus is a competent director (unlike Lieberman and Guggenheim who directed the first film). But all this is not saying much; the musical numbers are terrible, the CGI elves are given way too much screen time, and the clichés abound (again to do with the sanctity of the nuclear family).

This was terrible right up there with Spy Kids 3 and Santa Clause 3. Everything I didn't like about the first film was magnetized here. Plus this came out in 2020 shouldn't there at least have been some mention of Covid?

I'm still a fan of Russell as Santa in principle, but this sequel took the dive into catering too hard to adolescents to really leave any appeal for me. As much as I found Dennison to be pretty entertaining elsewhere, his character was pretty awful here and the CGI elves just were not cutting it.

This is not as good as the first film in the series. The actors do a good job with their roles but the script is subpar. Overall this movie is disappointing.

I quite enjoyed the first one and thought it was a serviceable family film for the holidays. This one was lacked a clear focus and felt like a mishmash of different ideas and folklore; it also had a religious vibe that felt out of place. Excessive use of CGI pulled you out of the film. Kurt is still charismatic and it was nice to see him together with his wife Goldie Hawn once again.

Movie Watching Partner (MVP) suggested this one. It was a pretty cheesy follow-up to the first Christmas Chronicles with a weird villain who is a fallen elf.

I didn't think it was quite as good as the original, as setting it in the north pole makes it a little less interesting than Santa having to deal with regular people in the real world like the original. That being said, I still had fun with this. Like the original, it also had some nice usage of HDR as well.

A very disappointing sequel. Kurt Russel still shines as the cool Santa, but is underutilized. Apart from him this sequel throws away all that did work in the first and instead foregrounds what did not by focusing on a plot about one of the horrible CGI elves gone bad.

Watchable Santa movie with too much action and a really unlikeable (not in a good way) bad guy.

I'm going to have to go back and watch the first installment, which I rated poorly, because I thought this movie was a lot of fun.

Not much good but watchable at the right time of year - albeit less charming than the first and chocked full of horrid CGI.

Even better than the first one! This is not just a good Christmas movie, but also a proper fantasy movie! We get introduced to the workshop of Santa in the North Pole in so much detail! We also get a short glimpse of how elves live in other parts of the world. The movie presents us a really interesting fantasy world with holliday flavours! Nothing like this has ever been done before! Recommended during Christmas or if you want to see a fun fantasy setting. Watching the first one is not required.

Maybe it's just me, but this was more imaginative and silly and fun than its predecessor. Eff the Elf on the Shelf; Belsnickel forever

Not as good as the first one, but still a very watchable Christmas film, made so by the awesomeness that is Kurt Russell!
