The Coca-Cola Kid

Eric Roberts is perfect in this role - as he is as the snake fighting father/manager in 'Babylon' - and Greta Scacchi is always a pleasure to watch (she has 'it'). Clearly Roberts does not understand the rule; if Greta Scacchi flirts with you then you flirt back, and if she wants to have sex with you then you damn well comply. Also, top-notch cinematography by Dean Semler.

I wanted to like this (for one, Eric Roberts seems to be giving his all, and he is good), but it's constantly jumping around in mood/theme, and by the end, just feels empty.

Lead by a suave-as-fuck performance from Eric Roberts as the title character, this is a pretty amusing and accessible film that taps into the Australian history of subjugation, but from a highly Americanised point of view. Great easy watch, but not without some Yugoslavian flavour.

Original and quirky and all the time engaging.

I didn't think this was any better or worse than Sweet Movie, really. I don't know if this is a good or bad thing.
