This low-budget, Frankenstein-flavored sci-fi flick involves the transplantation of a dead scientist's brain into the body of a hulking, glowing-eyed, caped robot by the man's lunatic brother. Though initially a success, the operation soon goes horribly wrong as the robot begins to display increasingly homicidal behavior, zapping people with its gamma-ray eyes.

Could have been a single Twilight Zone Frankenstein sci-fi episode. Fairly good atmosphere and music. Distracting child actor (but sad what happened to him in real life with alcoholism). Mala Powers was magnetic. Robot was OP. Fav scene: robot melting faces at the end.

Has a bit of the charm of being a cheap 50s B sci-fi. A few scenes with the robot rampaging are amusing, but mostly it is just poor and boring with lots of wooden unsubtle dialogues. The score sound like they re-used a silent slapstick score, so it feels entirely out of place. .

Robocop + Frankenstein = Colossus. Interesting ideas, an experimental solo-piano soundtrack, good sound design and some neat visuals elevate this above most 50s schlock. It's not free from a lot of classic blunders that so many genre films of the era fall prey to, and the narrative can be a bit messy, but it bought me with ideas and atmosphere - two things I'm a sucker for. Don't go in expecting carnage though. It's sloppy, but semi-cerebral; not much monster mayhem.
