The Comeback Trail

Given the delicious potential of the B-movie premise, it’s hugely frustrating how atrocious the script (or lack thereof) is, relying largely on the excruciating double act of McCann and Staats to pad out an already short runtime; their back-and-forth is simply dire and there’s absolutely no imagination behind their cartoonish plotting to kill their star. It’s a shame for Buster Crabbe as he oozes Old Hollywood quality in his final screen outing.
