The Constant Nymph

It's competent, but for all the hullabaloo in just trying to see the darned thing, not that exciting. Fontaine plays the same girl-becoming-a-woman shtick better in Rebecca and Jane Eyre (and to a degree, The Bigamist). And the Gigi/Lolita thing is creepy.

The ladies are good in this Lolita-lite story. While it suffers from being too safe, it does portray a solid marriage problem between Charles Boyer & Alexis Smith, as Boyers young muse Joan Fontaine splits the bond in their relationship. Fairly mature drama within it's immature free-spirited nature.
