It has its moments, but any sense of originality or purpose is lost about halfway through the film. The cast is mostly decent, Lugosi does well with his role. The soundtrack was rather bad.

An absurd, shlocky story executed poorly. Despite playing such a bastard character, Lugosi is just kinda there and has none of his incredible stage presence.

An interesting mystery that quickly unravels into cliche for the sake of cliches. I'm guessing the screenwriter ran out of steam. Lugosi is grand but Russell is sadly given little to do. [MST3k was decent, if a little harsh on Bela]

The jumps in logic that the young doctor and reporter make are just ridiculous the only more ridiculous was the fact that each and every piece of speculation that the reporter has is exactly what was happening.

More Monogram madness with Lugosi shining, in relative terms, in poorly shot and lit scenes filled with odd musical cues. A real favourite among Bela fans of this period, this viewer expected better as a so-bad-it's-good experience, but there is enough sleaze and novelty here to sustain interest.

A swiftly paced, precociously sicko Monogram chiller, a model of Poverty Row efficiency.

Saw this on Mystery Science Theater. Lugosi is his usual self but the movie is snail-paced and incredibly boring.

Really bad acting, AWFUL lighting. It's dark half of the movie, they should've just cut those bits out

Pretty poor with little to redeem it. The ultimate happy ending is kind of funny though. MST3K score: 69

Bela Lugosi doing what Bela Lugosi does. Now a resident at Monogram Pictures, which is making him the master of stinking horrors.
