A rare non-western from William S. Hart! Here returning from World War 1 figuring out what to do next. Continue being a criminal like he was before.... or go straight. Hart was such an expressive actor. His characters always have such an inner emotion. The story moves nicely, even if it's a fairly standard one of cops and crooks. Gertrude Claire as his old crime ma' was marvelous and helps on the overall impression along with a strong performance from Hart without his cowboy clothes.
