The Creep Behind the Camera

The interesting story behind the man responsible for the cinematic scam, "The Creeping Terror"(1964), sadly is told as this stylized, fast-and-loose on facts, tonally confused, docudrama. The vast majority of the near two-hour film is made up of reenactments intercut with brief interview footage, but not presented in chronological order or with any feel of credible authority. Which is only brought further into question with the dubious claims placing Charles Manson near the film's production.

The actors did a decent job with this, but I'd have preferred 'Creep' as a straight documentary. There had to be plenty more meat on this bone. As well, personally, I've wanted to hear about the logic behind The Creeping Terror's 'greaser fight' sequence for years - referenced here in passing, but unaddressed with an appropriately gonzo anecdote.
