Esse é um filme que eu gostaria de dar 4 estrelas pelo know-how brechtiano do Losey, mas talvez seja esse mesmo distanciamento emocional cênico que me afastou dele em primeiro lugar, me transformando na Adriana de Schrodinger. A Losey film with no mirrors? I'm confused. It lacks the visual knack I've come to expect from Losey, but it's still a really good film from the late noir era that reflects on the changing times in an interesting way. The lead character feels like someone from a bunch of British crime films, both before and after, so the role works well as emblematic commentary on an archetype.
