It certainly had its endearing and funny moments, but in a character sense it struggled to breathe beyond stereotypes, and was anviliciously sentimental with the more didactic aspects.

An amusing slice of life gentle comedy that won't stick with me for long but was a nice diversion while watching it.

i have absolutely no interest in soccer, however the monastery setting and some good writing and a whole host of awesome characters more than compensate for that. for being the first movie to come out of bhutan i can only hope that they stay on the level in the future.

Lads will be lads wherever they happen to be in the world is the message of this charming but slight comedy-drama. The setting - a remote monastery in the Indian Himalayas - is its strength, the unfamiliarity lending a freshness to rather cliched material. The final act, especially, plays out more or less beat for beat and one would expect it to. A likeable cast of characters helps a lot and it's a pleasant enough experience, but Bhutan's first ever feature film is, sadly, not one to remember.
