This was dryer than the mummy himself. I would probably be scared of a moist mummy. Most of the time we are spent in lavish parlours sipping brandy and glancing at heaving bosoms, so a not bad Hammer horror.

Fred Clark was entertaining, but nothing else makes it worth the sit. The set up is long and boring, and the payoff is extremely underwhelming.

A very mixed bag. Though it's solidly unpredictable w/ a wholly unexpected surprise near the end & characters written well enough to keep your sympathies shifting (exceedingly rare for these kinds of films), the film's fatal flaw is that it's not really a mummy film (he's "asleep" for most of it) but a murder mystery with the 1st murder a misleading cheat since it's not related to what follows. Like its predecessor, it also wastes time w/ pedantic narrated flashbacks but at least they're shorter

I felt really bad for Ra - one-handed, wrapped up in toilet paper, face frozen in a constant state of constipation, internal organs stuck in canopic jars somewhere. Being a reanimated mummy sounds like a real pain in the asp.

Hammer movies without Cushing or Lee are rather boring, this one is a prime example of that. Never before has 77 minutes felt so long.

Unlike the other Universal Horror franchises, Hammer has yet to do something interesting here. An absence of Peter Cushing and a crazy long wait for the Mummy to actually do anything makes this one of their weaker efforts.

It's cheesy fun but looks and feels super low budget. The mummy was fat and stupid looking and the whole thing was sort of lackluster.

A very generic, uneventful movie. It takes forever to get to the mummy (even by the standards of the time), and the characters aren't interesting enough to care about. Overall, a complete snoozefest.

A great lumbering bore for most of it, only enlivened by Clark's over-the-top circus barker act, sort of like Barnum & Bailey rolled into one.

Takes too long to get to the mummy, but still passes the time okay. It has an interesting twist at the ending. Fred Clark is fantastic as the exaggerated crass American financier.

Almost nothing happens until the last 20 minutes. There are some nice atmospheric shots from there, but this movie takes way too long to get its feet under it.

Take a completely by-the-numbers mummy plot, but blend it with "King Kong" and the Cain and Abel story and the result is pretty interesting if not great. This is a serviceable Hammer flick with a not very interesting cast, but a nifty twist that explains the deaths.

Epitome of slog. Took 6 sittings to watch 80 minutes bc i kept falling asleep. Takes 55 minutes to buildup to the mummy...there's even a rehash of the scenes from the opening before the mummy appears. Story is obviously garbage but these movies are all monster action which this barely has. By the time it starts doing anything i was ready to fast forward to the end.
