See that sounds like some evil Superman zipping around causing mayhem. It’s not even close, people you don’t care about get killed by something you won’t care about on a barely lit screen.

The cops spend a lot of time posturing while the film manages to make an eye-laser-shooting alien into a bland Frankenstein. I couldn't even see the alien for most of the film, so replacing him with a human serial killer would at least have added tension and characterization. The narrative bookends were the most campy cheesy things ever. Fav scenes: decapitation; eye lazers yanking a cop up high into a wall before blowing him up; final scene with a guy just torching the alien.

Like Blood Beach, comes off like a made-for-TV '70's cop drama with a bloodthirsty monster thrown in. More unintentional laughs than Blood Beach though.

The Dark is dark alright. Murkier than any film has any right to be, like staring into a moss-covered pond in the middle of a black, Cornish night. This was originally intended as a zombie movie & boy does it show. There are obvious attempts to make this sci fi, but the bulk of script & dialogue shouts something supernatural from the grave. Still, the climax almost sells it... and is a highlight really, since we get to see a zombie shoot lasers out of its eyes and blow people up.
