The government sets up a Zombie squad after an epidemic has made the world run rampant with living corpses. Raimi, Mercer, Kuller, and others head off to Ohio to try and find a cure to the epidemic but soon run into a crazy cult of zombie lovers who are set on preserving the zombies and letting a new world be born because they believe that it's God's will. When Mercer gets infected with the zombie virus, Raimi and the others must work quickly to find a cure and avoid the cult. (imdb)

Crummy low budget horror movie about a zombie killing squad searching for a serum that will cure the zombie apocalypse. They run across a group of survivors led by a religious freak who are stockpiling the undead in cages for nefarious purposes. The acting is strictly amateur, but some of the gore shots are pretty tasty. There's also a quality number of zombie extras for something that obviously has almost no money...there's a few scenes with good sized hordes of shambling ghouls.

This movie seems to take more inspiration from Return of the Living Dead than from Romero. The goofiness is not overly stupid and the acting while shitty is at least fun. The gore and special effects are much better than I was expecting. The film did start to drag at around the halfway point.

honestly, it would have been better without the cult aspect, but it's really not that bad of a b-zombie flick, it's got the gore--and i know you want it--and it's got zombies, of course you want that, and what's wrong with that?

Don't let the cover run you off. This is a really good zero budget movie that's a lot of fun and not just going for 'gross-out'
