It isn't as interesting as the other two since what it's documenting wasn't on anyone's radar and never really will be, but these kids really were everywhere and they're still out there, and no one is paying any attention to them. Hell, I was a punk (what I guess is called a beard punk now) as a teenager and I didn't know what these types were about. Anyway, it's not really entertaining, but these kids needed at least some time to present their case and Spheeris let them do it admirably.

Maybe it's bc Spheeris has gained 18 years of maturity since her first doc of the LA punk scene, but this is a far better, wiser film. While the tone of the first one suggested she found all of these obviously abused & extremely angry kids entertainingly outrageous, this film isn't really about the music, but an expose of what happens to kids who've been abused and discarded by sh-t parents. There's nothing good about living solely on music & rebellion no matter how "cool" the songs say it is

Phenomenal. The best of the trilogy and a shame it had been the least available until this gorgeous Blu Ray restoration. I've always said Decline II was the film I'll always wish I made, but fuck it, this is the one.

What a contrast between parts 2 & 3! While the musicians in part 2 came across as sad, delusional and pathetic, the kids in this instalment are literate, articulate, self-aware and intelligent. Part 1 may be the classic, but part 3 is the most rewarding and enjoyable to watch (though ineffably sad too).

Lives up to the reputation of the first part of the trilogy and is every bit as good as Part 1. Incredibly depressing looking back at this 20 years later and realizing most of these punks are no longer here with us.

Proof that we all put up unbearable personalities to deal with life.

Every punk has a story that winds up being very similar to everyone else's but the personalities really shine thru in this one. Sad, funny and full of the punk spirit. Who the fuck wants to live forever anyway
