The Deep House

Sinking influencers to the bottom of a lake isn't exactly a terrifying idea to me.

Leaving aside the gimmick of being filmed underwater, this is a pretty ordinary by-the-numbers horror film. Nothing you haven't seen before a thousand times.

Either present yourself as a found footage movie or don't, this weird half-measure is so distracting and awkward. And having a robot camera follow the characters to get coverage is such a bullshit cheat.

The idea is cool, but the dialog is horrendous. Still the novelty of an underwater haunted house keeps one watching. Unfortunately, it keeps too much distance with its Lovecraftian inspirations. Why not lean into it instead of wrapping up their slow burn dive with a very underwhelming whimper?

This was quite intense to me. Combining an ghost story, haunted house and underwater movie all in one.

Une vraie merde. Quelques points généreux pour la technique mais ils ont tout gâché avec le scénario ! L'histoire tient sur un seul flashback. Camille Rowe (même pas douée pour se doubler en version Française) et le fils Jagger sont mauvais. C'est un film qui ne respecte pas son spectateur. Et cette fin... ça sent les réalisateurs véreux qui voulaient nous surprendre avec un mauvais final... mais c'est juste la suite logique, puisque tout était déjà mauvais et ennuyeux avant.

Our House, in the middle of the creek. I realize it's a lake but the idea of a movie about a Lake House is too ridiculous. That could never work.

Youtuber filmi. Hayalet evleri araştıran sevgili çift, duydukları su altı evine gidip videolarını çekmek ister. Ev hayaletli çıkar. Sürükleyici ve korkutucu. Su altı çekimleri çok iyi olmasa da izletiyor. Bu arada su altı evi çok iyi tasarlanmış. Kısa süresiyle de hemen izleniyor. Filmin sonunda, havaları sönüyor. O neydi o? Balıktır o balık.

Impressive technicals. Not really my genre.

Kudos to the results of the mixing of genres I thought never would have possible.

I was so taken by this movie that it wasn't until about two thirds mark when I wondered if they really filmed this under water. And how did they get the house under the water? This is a unique horror concept and it worked for me.
