Nancy Carroll puts on a sort of Clara Bow performance as the promiscuous gold digger and gets a Oscar nomination for it. While she is the life of this movie, the rest is deliberately the death of it. The Stone Family of James Kirkwood & Hobart Bosworth, with their stone faces all very grim once they learn what kind of women she is, except for the man she tricks to get her revenge on the snobby family - Phillips Holmes. They have their moments even if this is a very over-dramatized sometimes.
