The Devil's Rain

The title refers to what happens in my toilet a few hours after I eat Taco Bell. Ernest Borgnine as a man-goat will never be not hilarious.

There's more melting in this movie than in An Inconvenient Truth. Hey-OH! In all seriousness though, there's a lot of melting.

Some atmosphere is created with the Bosch-backdropped titles, the promise of a "famed" Satanist as a "technical advisor" and a curious opening sequence that assumes a bit of knowledge from the viewer. Unfortunately it all gets a bit incoherent, and the pacing doesn't help. The cast is decent even if the script isn't; Borgnine relishes every second of it, especially when he turns into a goat man. A gloopy special effect gets very overused at the end. Flawed, but interesting nonetheless.

Man the cast & plot summary make this sound amazing. Unfortunately it's kinda dull. Has some moments that make it worthwhile.

LaVey probably got all hot and bothered when they asked him to serve as a satanic advisor and then he got to recreate his rituals with the budget of a halfway decent Vacation Bible School. Borgnine is having the best time in a goat costume - everyone else feels sad.

Cheesy enough to upset most lactose intolerant people. Also, the effects are incredibly poor.

I liked it when Captain Kirk was burned or whatever.

i couldn't tell you what the plot was but I know I'll never look at pancake batter the same way again.

The makeup efx look both like store-bought masks & pretty damn creepy - especially with the (many) melting scenes. So had I seen this as a kid, I'm pretty sure I'd never have forgotten it. The big problem is that basic information is often very unclear (how do characters hide/disappear given one location in the desert? Why was Puritan Shatner cursed? Why did the doc find the book so easily?) & characterization is nil. Plot developments seem to occur only once per act, while everything else drags

Fast-paced and over the top while still playing it straight. I'm not a fan of satanic films in general but this one kept me entertained throughout its short runtime.

Borgnine and fellow high-profile satanists melt down real good in a luridly enjoyable, star-studded chiller that not only features a post-"Star Trek" Shatner but marked Travolta's big-screen debut.

Ano do Centenário de Ida Lupino: Filme #13 (atriz). Pelo o que eu tinha lido sobre esse filme eu esperava um filme ruim, mas não o é, só o achei enfadonho, com exceção do twist no último minuto que é deveras interessante. E que elenco! Até o Anton LaVey está nesse filme. BluRayRip RARBG.

The nearest I have ever seen to a Shudder Pulp on film. Great fun.
