Here I was, expecting Her to offer the answers and insight kept from us by its counterpart, to be the unclouded yin to its desolate yang. Unfortunately, Benson shoves more self-righteous characters and juvenile dialogues down our throats. I understand the whole perspective thing, but the change in content is, in the words of my man Lynch, TOTAL FUCKING BULLSHIT. And no way a woman dressed like that could grab the subway at Madison and Rutgers that time of night and not get raped. I'm just sayin'

In terms of quality, this film was about the same as Him. I liked this one better, though. That's most likely just because Jessica Chastain's character is a stronger and more interesting one than James McAvoy's. It cleared a few things up, but I'm not sure it made the whole story better than the sum of its parts. The films have a really cool concept, and in different hands, I think it could've been totally brilliant. As it stands, it's just decent.

The acting is strong, but the script is weak, often serving up caricatures, and the Him/Her experiment, for which I had high hopes, a complete failure. Watch 'The Affair' instead.

I watched Her second. The gimmick of shooting a film from two different characters perspective would have probably had a greater impact if the plot were more interesting. With moderate-to-low overlap, it's "impressive" how little effect each character's interactions had on the other. Her goes into more character depth making it marginally more interesting, but the material is stretched out too the extent it becomes tiresome. Chastain and Davis both deliver strong performances though.
