A surprisingly effective and thoughtful thriller that takes some risky, experimental detours.

Clumsy plotting and ugly direction makes for a tedious, ineffective thriller.

The third-act twist is just a huge middle-finger to the audience. "We couldn't think of a way to finish this story, so here's the oldest twist in the book." Fuck off.

A slightly uneven crime drama which ultimately reveals itself to be more complex and thought-provoking than I expected. There are a several major twists which I did not see coming, and the director plays with the viewer by keeping them in the dark. Which can be a rewarding tactic, but also makes some parts of the movie seem slow and morose. There's a subdued, minimalist aesthetic throughout, but maybe it could use a bit more pizazz. A promising debut, and might be worth another watch.

Not bad at all. Engaging and usually interesting, the plot is supported by enough background texture to keep you watching, and the details are worked out in a more-than-usually-satisfying way. Bravo to Filippo Timi, who manages to successfully tread the fine line of being a sympathetic schlub and totally hot at the same time.

Great, great, great almost Psychological Thriller with a marvelous score that reminds me a lot of Sigur Rós.

Decent little psycho-thriller that really keeps you guessing and has better developed characters than usual in this sort of thing.

Only when Capotondi trades in chaos and negativity does he show a giallo streak-unfortunately that's for most of the film.

I had an awful feeling I'd seen the film before and by the end of the credits I figured I definitely had but had no great recollection. I've rated the film so that I never make that mistake again and rewatch this underwhelming film for a third time

Go in knowing as little as possible. As a fan of thrillers/mysteries, I will say there were some aspects that I found refreshing. On the other hand, I must say that this was one of those films that kept my interest, didn't offend my intelligence, but was ultimately a little dissatisfying. Not something to rush out a see, but if you're looking for a decent thriller you haven't seen before, you could do worse.

"The ostensible genre elements that seem to pitch the Double Hour somewhere between crime film and ghost story begin to look like the stuff of an allegory about modern relationships and the fright of commitment"
