Warren William is no William Powell. The mystery isn't very good nor is the whole premise, the whole thing reminded me of a Scooby-Doo episode. Some of the characters were fun and the whole thing only took about an hour so it never really had a chance to drag.

Warren William takes over William Powell's place as Detective Philo Vance in a fine manner. These murder cases are a gentleman's detective story so not much suspense or drama. Just joking around until they stumble over something to solve the mystery. A potboiler in it's genre and good easy entertainment thanks to a great cast of character actors and "The Dragon Murder Case" is no different. Just another middle of the road entry in the series.

The problem these Philo Vance pictures have is they don’t have William Powell (therefore lacking charisma). Nice underwater shots, but boring story, with a little hint of racism from the protagonist just for fun: “But isn’t that a characteristic of your race?” Jesus
