The Drunk uses a very real socialist party member as the basis for it's protagonist to feel the call of politics. The Drunk is an independent comedy from William Tanoos and Paul Fleschner that doesn't do a lot to impress but it is a heartfelt, honest story. While most of the movie is plagued with bad acting, the overall story ends up being kind of sweet in the end. I wouldn't say that I will be buying my own copy of this movie or even watching it again but it wasn't bad once.
