Manages to be both simplistic and excessive in its storytelling, but pacing and camerawork keep it watchable enough.

Fairly enjoyable but not sure it will stand the test of time. There are flaws in the characters motivations and non of it comes across as believable.

A movie with some interesting political ideas and youthful spirit but which doesn't genuinely connect with youth because it makes its protagonists not just impulsive, but implausibly dumb. I dunno, maybe kids are different in Germany.

Whilst I appreciate its boldness in screenplay and some neat comedic scenes, the snail-slow pacing and the overriding pretentious feel to the film made this quite mediocre and annoying to watch for me.

Horrifically boring. There was an OK movie in there somewhere, but it's not artful or intriguing enough to get away with pacing this slow.

Defines the term "sophomoric", and I say that as an avowed socialist. Trite and shallow right down to the cringe-worthy use of Hallelujah, used as it always is, in an attempt to inject some cheap emotion.

This film has lots of nice moments and clever thoughts but it's socialistic orientation is way too annoying.

Enjoyable little thriller that wears its political heart on its sleeve and is all the better for it.

Even though the goal of the film is admirable, it is ruined by several things, the most important one being the very vague simplistic politics, which makes sure that you don't know why the three main characters do what they are doing.

Likeable tale of idealistic youth colliding with aged reality. It drifts a bit towards the end but raises some thought provoking issues.

I was surprised this was only 2hours long; felt more like 3 1/2. Had its moments, but the politics was a bit thin. The remake will no doubt be an embarrassing mess.

well made and acted. the idea is a great idea, but over time it just feels a bit boring. the quality was pretty decent, and the movie was generally pretty fun.

Good movie for sure, but the main "heroes" were terrible, their love triangle pointless and the ending weird. And of course, Hallelujah really didn't feel right in this movie. Worth watching anyway.

Incredibly mediocre. Less a film than a bunch of teens sitting around explaining an incredibly shallow understanding of socialism. Every element of the plot has been done better elsewhere, and it's so pedantic that one might as well read some Bakunin and get an in-depth, well-written explanation rather than some sparse cliffs-notes.

I really liked this movie. Good tight story and character driven plot. Not too heavy handed with the moral message.

This was about as interesting as a 90s yuppie slacker love film, and unfolds mostly the same way. The politics are wispy thin and predictably stupid but don't even fill a tenth of the movie. I found it nearly impossible to finish. It was just extremely dull and worthless.
