This is so terrible.

That's not how electricity works, but who cares. A ton of gags that work really well and a few punches are pulled which actually makes the ones that hit that much funnier.

One of the most inventive and outrageous Buster Keaton shorts.

Clever and inventive. It's a lot of fun.

Funny stuff, even if a lot of the time is spent being amazed at things that are not really that amazing, and the villain's revenge is just wandering into the basement and flipping a bunch of switches. Feels like Cline and Keaton couldn't really break the plot in the second reel so just went with "more hijinks, and some ghost thing".

this one is a solid one that really shows off the ingenuity and imagination that keaton had. i really liked the ideas, but there could have been a little more of a push to get out the great laughs.

Positively packed with some of Keaton's most clever and elaborate ideas to date. Given the popularity of the gadget-filled house in "The Scarecow," I suppose a big-budget upgrade was inevitable, and this certainly delivers that.

One of Buster's amazing houses. I wouldn't mind having some of this gagetry myself. I could do without the stairs tossing me through the upstairs window and into the pool, though.

Unusually tame and unfunny. A real snoozer, this Keaton short had me fighting off sleep.

I will always laugh at someone going up a down escalator ... so I had a few guffaws with this one. Some incredibly inventive house additions; my favorite is probably the food train, although I'm not quite sure how the cats fit in. (Waited all movie for someone to be tossed into the un-filled pool, which Keaton had done a version of in Hard Luck.)

A casa elétrica estreava há 100 anos nos EUA. Se esse curta não é a maior inspiração do Mon Oncle do Jacques Tati, nada mais o é. Box OP Buster Keaton.

Regular Buster's two-reeler. Lots of fun gadgets, but very simple story. The gags aren't good enough to keep the movie above the water.

There is not much story here, and the laughs are minimal. However, the inventiveness of the gadgets is lots of fun in a Saturday morning cartoon kind of way.

Obviously rather scant in emotional or narrative richness, but it exemplifies Keaton's ability to, through insane stunts and mise-en-scène, plus inspired editing, pull a great movie together.
