Disney's funniest animated movie, hands down. It eschews the usual Disney formula to deliver a more Looney Tunes-esque romp with memorable gags, wacky characters, and a distinctly postmodern feel. Succeeds in all the ways that "Hercules" failed a few years before.

The funniest animated film I have ever seen. It's positively hilarious. Unlike your average Disney film it doesn't have tons of songs every few minutes and relies on the characters for entertainment. Great for adults and kids alike!

Gets most of its humor from postmodern hyperbole, deus ex machina, and inversion, but its all clever - and even without songs, it runs along at a brisk and welcome pace. Iconoclastic in Disney's catalog and therefore interesting for all the wrong reasons.

Talk about a salvage. Emperor's New Groove was supposed to be serious and nothing like this. When the project wasn't going as planned, they decided to make it very tongue-in-cheek and off the wall. It worked very well. The humor is great... it's the one work that David Spade has done that I liked.

One of Disney's funniest animated films, by far. The humor is very off-the-wall with quick fire delivery and crisp action that propels well developed characters. This style of comedy would prove to be very influential over the rest of the decade's animation and perhaps even cut a template for rising internet humor (meta jokes, quick-transition shots, etc). This is the best thing David Spade has ever been involved with and the despite the random silliness, there is still a very touching story.

Practically every Disney movie that does something remotely non-Disney gets a cult following, but this one actually deserves it. Their visual gags were never this good before, and haven't been anywhere as good since.

Some of the jokes are pretty damn funny, and some of the jokes are really silly. The voices of David Spade and John Goodman fit their respective roles (douchebag emperor and peasant with a big heart) well.

Surprisingly good! Has more in common with Vaudeville than Aladdin comedically. The voice acting is outstanding--I can't stand David Spade but I have to say he was perfect for the rude, whiny llama. Patrick Warburton is especially enjoyable in this. He is so expressive. The animation is nice, too, with an artful sort of depth to many of the scenes, and a lovely and sensible color palette.

A pleasant surprise. The irreverent tone and absence of song-and-dance routines is a refreshing break from decades of Disney's usual Spunky Gal Tells Overbearing Family To Fuck Off, Elopes With Chiseled Nordic Hunk fare. The stylized, geometric characters are great too. The whole film has a frantic but controlled energy that (for better or worse) set the tone for an entire decade of animated features.

This silly, a bit underrated, fast-paced and unbelievably talky animation serves as the perfect example of what Disney/Pixar now refuses to make: that is, just a really funny family movie once in a while, instead of these pseudo-adult (male) melodramas we see hit the theaters every summer -- and that said by someone who loves these.

I really appreciate how the themes, text, and anything beyond the most visual aspects of the concept art have NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH THE INCA SETTING. Pretty off-the-wall for its time, ngl one of the best Disney movies I've ever seen, the shallow and bad jokes are plentiful and REALLY SHALLOW AND BAD, the touching moments are very touching. If there had to be a terrible animated blockbuster for me to get dragged to, I'm glad this was it.

Passable kiddie animation does nothing interesting with its distinctive locale and characters, and pitches its writing at the most simplistic Saturday morning cartoon level, but a spirited voice cast elevates it to a pleasant watch, with Kitt and Warburton's amusing double-act the highlight. Ostensible lead Spade proves his value as a supporting player, essentially disappearing into the rabble for the most part! Tom Jones' "appearance" another well realised highlight.

Bubbling with as much comedic chemistry as a test tube full of poison, that poison, the poison chosen especially for this movie. The fantastic vocal performances (Goodman's rich tones and Spade's spindly ones are perfect for their contrasting roles), wacky slapstick, and quirky a-sides (spuds yes, cheese no) combine to create a lload of llaughs throughout. The plot is as enjoyably quick as its banter but still manages to generate a satisfying and emotional arc for the selfish sad sack on a cart.

Feels a lot more like a Saturday morning cartoon than a Disney theatre movie. That said, it's pretty entertaining and with some re-working it could have been a pretty funny movie. The chemistry between Kuzco and Pacha is nowhere near as endearing as this movie thinks it is, especially since Kuzco's redemption arc is lame and his characterization is nauseating. On the other hand, Kronk and Yzma elevate the film with Kronk's dimwitted but pure conscious clashing with Yzma's vindictive arrogance leading to a lot of good gags. I also like how the movie openly disregards narrative logic as a gag in of itself and its frantic scenes manage to do enough to not be boring.
