The climactic action scene is really stylish and cool, and I'll watch Denzel Washington kick ass for a couple of hours as many times as he wants to do it, but this one doesn't really try to be too much. It's fine, much like The Equalizer and The Equalizer 2. The villains are pretty unmemorable and some of the interpersonal stuff is a bit cheesy at times. If you like Denzel action, though, you won't regret the time spent watching. Just don't expect anything new.

Taking the character of McCall so such a low point was actually a really captivating way to start, and the story of corruption in a small Italian town was a fine way to keep it going, but I felt that the ending was lacking the kind of payoff most third action films would try to give. The action was ok but never outshined the first two movies, and the pacing made the ending feel rushed. Good installment to the series, but I was hoping for a bit more bang for my buck.

Build-up is shit and it takes too long to actually start -- I mean, Denzel slaughtering Camorra dudes in a little coast village in Sicily because he's finally found peace in life --, but it's at least better than the utter boring second entry. Fanning's arc is a bit of a stretch and way too undercooked to do anything for the plot. Denzel always delivers, though, and Richardson makes everything look tasty. Whatever finale, but as a football fan, loved the nod to Napoli's Serie A title in 2023.

Far better than the second, not as good as the first. The Italian setting is used well, offering a quieter start for McCall as he gets to know the local town and its occupants, building up a reason for him to defend it. While a good action movie, it doesn't bring back the single best feature of the original: kills with unconventional weapons. McCall mostly kills with knives or guns. Even the finale, while a nice mirror of of 1's ending, seems like an anticlimax.

Loved the opening scenes in this final thrilling episode. After that I think the movie did a good job keeping the action restricted to a single sweet village with just a couple of bad guys without too many difficult motives or unnecessary backstories. Very cool action and Denzel remains just an awesome action star. Big fan.

I enjoyed this finale immensely. It was fun feeling like I was watching Gommorah in parts as well. Fuqua does pulpy action sequences expertly. This didn't disappoint. Some disjointed moments here and there and some baddie clichés abound, but for what we're looking for in a gritty actioner w a nearly septuagenarian Denzel? This is an 8.2 overachievement. Well done.

Surprisingly I found this to be the best entry in the series. Some of the camerawork, writing, and editing were questionable not to mention the plethora of plotholes but Denzel Washington played a man searching for peace while reveling in violence to near perfection.

Pretty dull action flick. Not a lot happens, and it all happens slowly. Mafia villains so unintimidating I was left wondering why the village people who outnumber them fifty to one don’t just rush them en masse and beat them to death. Even Denzel isn’t really doing anything interesting, something I’ve rarely had cause to say before in my life. Also annoying how he’s wearing the exact same black button down and black slacks for the entire movie, first scene to last. Change ur shirt Equalizer

It’s oddly juxtaposed to the 2nd film, which was a saggy overlong mess with too many characters. This by contrast is a brief hit and run through idealised Italy which could have done with an extra few minutes to take the viewer along on McCall’s journey. It’s fun, and I’ve a soft spot for the series, but it’s rather shallow and hampered by a very rudimentary screenplay.

I hate when it feels like they don't care about any part of the movie other than actions. Why not develop that cafe owner's story? And the villains suck as hell. It's obvious there will be another part starring Dakota! Her mom never mentioned her specially, but Bob had to go and be an obsessive lifesaver. ok.

Denzel is good again reprising the lead role. The script is not groundbreaking but it works. There are some nice scenes of Denzel interacting with some small town people. Overall I would recommend this film.

Pretty fun movie. One has to wonder, though, about the decorating sensibilities of the Camorra. Are they really such Anglophiles that they fill their mansions with paintings of Dickens and Lord Horatio freakin' Nelson? Does it really make sense to put a copy of the Apollo Belvedere right in front of the Dickens? Couldn't one of their henchmen have delecately suggested that these pieces might work better in different rooms?

Better than the second. There's lots of Denzel spouting entertainingly badass dialogue, alot more visceral violence in the fight scenes & the bad guys are so evil (yet plausible) you eagerly look forward to their deaths. It also probably helps that for the first time you truly get a sense that Denzel's in danger of losing something truly important to him. It's too bad the finale lacks any surprise w/ Denzel just pulling a Rambo rather than outwitting anyone.

Lord knows the world doesn't need more aging actors' vigilante power fantasies, but of all those aging actors Denzel Washington is ever-watchable, and as vigilante power fantasies goes, taking down the Camorra in a picturesque Sicilian town suited him.

The formula is simple, but still works. Introduce friendly community of obviously good people just trying to live their best lives in their little village, then introduce morally unambiguously evil group, and keep escalating their evil until Denzel gives them their quick come-uppance as payoff. Denzel is obviously getting up there in age, but they get around this by making the action more stealthy / "realistic" and quick rather than something like John Wick.

Fuqua stworzył ostatnią część serii, z której jest chyba najbardziej znany i zrobił to w czym chyba czuje się najlepiej. The Equalizer 3 to równie krwawy i mocny thriller jak dwie poprzednie chociaż czuję pewien niedosyt.

By the 3rd entry of an action franchise, you typically begin to see the cracks of its repetitive foundation. The Denzel/Fuqua duo provides just enough to the foundation with an aesthetic setting, likable support characters, and of course…some brutal action. It does a great job of recognizing its stage in the franchise, and spends the time tying up loose ends to the trilogy and not overstaying its welcome. It hits the beats of a solid finale, as it’s just satisfying to watch close its book.

I thought this was perfectly fine - if anything, probably a marginal step up from 1 & 2 based on being more grounded and believable. It's been said but the combo of Fuqua and Denzel is so good, and every moment Denzel is on screen (which is of course most of the movie) is pretty good stuff. I don't think they had much here for an antagonist, and that probably impacts my enjoyment a bit; at this point, the more at-risk I could have felt Denzel was, the better, and this never got me to that point.

I like this a fair bit more than the first two because it felt less strained. In 1 and 2, they HAD to make him use his surroundings to get "original" kills, but it felt silly. While he still doesn't bring a weapon really, at least the kills make sense. That and McCall is shot like a horror movie, which is interesting. He faces no real danger, he's basically just a force that appears and kills everything in sight. Enjoyed the soundtrack and watching him try to find peace.

Set in a small Italian village. Denzel finally has the opportunity to find home. He's not looking for villainy, but he has no issues defending the innocent. The third and possibly final film of a prolific series.

Ultimately, this is kind of fun on the simplest level, but it's very very dumb and really ugly (for some reason all of Sicily is just ... grey), and feels like poor use of the talent involved.

In "The Equalizer 3," Denzel Washington returns as Robert McCall, brought out of retirement to protect a small Italian town from the mafia. While it revisits some familiar themes, the film adds depth to the story and delivers solid action, with Washington's performance and Dakota Fanning's presence being highlights. It's an entertaining addition to the series.

Silly and unrealistic; a man with superpowers of combat somehow passed off to us like that level is normal. But the scenery is attractive, the action tight, and the runtime perfect. Bit heavy on the gore but otherwise a fun weeknight no-brain flick.

This is the best one yet. The plot felt the most complete from beginning to end and it allows Denzel to shine. The inner turmoil is what truly shines for the character development. Italy is just a stunning set piece as well and bringing McCall out of his comfort zone was definitely a good call. All around such a great story and film experience.
