Frank Perry is an institutionalized convict twelve years into a life sentence without parole. When his estranged daughter falls ill, he is determined he make peace with her before it's too late. He develops an ingenious escape plan, and recruits a dysfunctional band of escapists - misfits with a mutual dislike for one other but united by their desire to escape their hell hole of an existence. Much of the action takes place within the tunnels, sewers and underground rivers of subterranean London. (imdb)

This is mostly a well done prison break film & given the quality of actors you wonder why it's not better known. My guess is that the whole diamond tooth thing is not only hard to follow, but extremely implausible for such a gritty film (how'd they know the diamond's real? & really? He's got to punch it out or they're screwed?), but the ending twist - which is somewhat moving - would be far better if it only made you rethink one character rather than negate almost everything you just watched.

A couple of very strong performances and a gritty tone, but the twists and turns of the plot don't really deliver. Somewhat disappointing.

Interesting movie by a young director, he announced a big plot twist at the end and still we didnt see it coming. A director to keep track of.

Starts pretty well but after awhile it becomes obvious that the director is clueless. Also the story falls apart in the end.

A strong cast does not help this prison escape flick stay interesting. Just misses.

The end was decent, but everything else was a bore. That poster is a lie. Too bad, I had high hopes, gotta love me some Brian Cox. No, I didn't say Brian's cock.

I've always kind of liked Brian Cox (normally I refer to actors by just their last name but thought twice this time), anyway he was really good here along with his cast of cohorts. The look and feel of the surroundings were well done, and the tension buildup also good.

Just couldn't get into this one, too cartoon-y. After 30 I ditched it for a goofy panel-show.

The movie had good originality when it came to the ending...but also was let down by the terribly confusing ending. However it wasn't your average run of the mill prison escape drama and I respect the fact that you feel not only the pain, violence and despair but also the happiness, joy and hope.

Crams together more prison-break cliches than you knew existed and caps it off with an awful ending.

Grimy prison break drama with a host of british thesps chewing the scenary. Original flash back construction disguises the twist well but the baddie characters were overplayed caricatures.

Mediocore film to begin with, but the ending twist ruins it completely. I liked dark and gritty cinematography, and Brian Cox is good in this, but plot doesn't live up to that level.

Pretty bad throughout, including pathetic score. By the end twist I could not care less about the whole thing.

Armed with a pulsing score and a band of great performances by veterans of modern Brit grit, this desperate and pared down thriller serves up a genuine adrenaline rush and refuses to take the easy way out. The grimy French Connection-style naturalism of its atmosphere and the nonlinear piecing of its plot culminate with urgency to surprising emotional effect.
