The Estate

The Estate has a good cast and a decent premise; unfortunately Craig's lacklustre script and direction leave the film feeling sluggish and meandering. The film needed to be a bit more pithy, and either a little less or a lot more absurd. At least it's short, ends on a punchline and is inoffensively watchable.

I've never seen a movie that knows so perfectly what is funny and yet struggles to be even amusing. The beats are all there and I REALLY like the cast but this misses most of the time. Not offensively so, just disappointing. You could watch this quietly on a stormy day and think your life cozy in its comforts.

"The Estate" is a brisk 91-minute comedy that offers fun performances from the cast, but it doesn't bring anything new to the topic of a family fighting over an estate. While it's an option to check out if audiences want to sit back and watch people ripping into each other over money, there are plenty of other great works available that cover this same topic in more creative ways.

A great cast let down by an unfunny script

There was not enough of a well thought out story here in order for it to be given a higher score. There glimpses of a better version of this sprinkled throughout but the humor sometimes stepped over the edge.

Went in with no expectations to watch with my family. Was pleasantly surprised that this drivel had some artistic merit. Some interesting cinematography with a few hand held camera scenes. Not a typical Hollywood happy ending either. Strong 69.
