The Evil Cult

Bizarre wire-fu mini epic that seems like it's part two of a trilogy. There's enough exposition in this episodic flick for at least 3 movies and the ending is completely abrupt, offering no resolution to the many plot threads. Tons of characters with constantly shifting alignments make it tricky to follow, but the action is all pretty solid.

The first 5 minutes is a deluge of incomprehensible plot, that is meant to establish the seemingly hundreds of clans and characters, but I don't see how anyone could keep track of all that information. Despite this it's very silly, and a lot of fun.

Great over-the-top kung fu, with an ending that was a bit disappointing, in that it directly leads into a second movie that was never made so the story is left dangling. Still, if you like WTF movies, this one is a must.

Crappy and with very little actual kung fu. Jet Li as Harry Potter, he mostly uses "magic".
