It's like going into town with your alcoholic mother. The outrageous behavior has lost its charm some time ago, and it's become painfully, awkwardly clear to everyone in the room that there's a serious problem.

This is pretty much the movie equivalent of watching your kids perform in a school play. You cheer them on, but as a whole it's fucking cringeworthy. Also: I'm pretty sure the shooting schedule came before the script on this one.

Is this a good movie? No! Does it achieve more or less what it sets out to do? Yes, no doubt about it. As for the crew, introducing the youngings is a misstep, and Schwarzenegger's performance is pretty damn cringeworthy. Ford and Li are pointless inclusions, and Lundgren is underused. Snipes is just sort of meh, but Stallone, Statham and Grammer are solid, Gibson makes a very good villain (though not as fun as Van Damme) and Banderas' colorful comedy routine is simply sublime. I want a part IV.

Why did they waste so much time on the new "talent"? Isn't the point of these movies to watch our favorite, old school action heroes in their natural habitat, ham it up and cap some fools? The movie is pressed for time as it is, why waste it on a Twilight reject, a tech support nerd, a less than world class boxer and... Frasier?

As is the case with actual masturbation, by the third whack at it, everybody starts getting comfortable with the fact they are never going to heaven. So while Steven Segal is up there at the Pearly Gates Aikido-ing the shit out of Saint Peter for a free pass, Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Lundgren, and those other guys are right here in hell doing lines off of Mickey Rourke's pimpled ass.

The Expendables 3 is not worth seeing unless you're a die-hard fan of the franchise (or one of its actors) or have already sat through two of them and need to see the third for the completion factor. The action isn't good, most of the actors you want to see aren't in it for the film's majority, and there's very little here worth watching in a film that runs for over two hours. It's boring, it's lazy, and it's not worth watching.

Probably as good as this franchise is going to get, so they might as well stop now. Awesome cast (Antonio Banderas and Harrison Ford are both hysterical), funny one-liners (Arnie even forces in a "Get to da choppa"), and Mel Gibson makes the best villain of the series. The Expendables literally kill an entire army at the end without taking a single casualty. Good Times.

And thus, the self-aware film series about an international cadre of meathead serial killers with hearts of gold comes to an end. So, what did we learn here today? Death is but an inevitability, and mentoring the next generation provides solace to lonely men. The combined incredibly high IQ of the action stars (at least five also-directors) may guarantee some dedicated performances, but not necessarily a lasting impression. You can outrun a collapsing building. All good things to know.

Pile of shit. To give my brain something to do I was counting how many people were killed in this film (it averages on 30/minute), but I don't remember seeing a drop of blood. Those old fucks trying to be funny is the most pitiful sight. Ok, I take that back. Seeing Randy Couture trying to act is the most pitiful sight. Whoever is paying to see these films are enabling them. Don't be enablers.

Trying to fathom the IQ that is needed to have an animated or even serious discussion about this shit in a can is already so far fetched and unattainable, that I dare not imagine the person behind it. How can you burn a shitload of money with no result, except a pounding headache from constant facepalming and trying to end yourself through strangulation? Dear sly, when, not if, when you sit there, "meditating" on part 4 and where you could go from here, please consider space. And stay there.

Stallone really managed to suck the last bit of magic out of it. It's even worse than the first installment. It would have been interesting if they would have cast some current action stars for the newbies, but this mess is inexcusable. The only highlights are Mel Gibson - this guy still know how to give a decent performance - and Harrison Ford.

Tremendously (and unexpectedly) entertaining threepeat of Stallone's original formula gives its eclectic cast of ageing action stars some diabolically amusing in-jokes to navigate, as well as some genuinely exciting and well staged action scenes. Banderas is great fun as a sort of live action incarnation of Eddie Murphy's 'Donkey', and Ford is very amusing in a send-up of his authoritarian roles; his climactic teaming with Schwarzenegger an 80s action fan's dream come true!

I still think these movies are entertaining and have no shame in saying I love the first, but it's hard not to feel like the novelty is wearing off a bit. They add more badasses, but the content gets more shallow and uninspired with each new entry. It's still fun because it's explosions, silly action and cheese, but it doesn't do any of that as well as the first. What was once funny isn't. Mindless entertainment, but there's better entertainment of this type out there, despite the ppl involved.

This time around the Expendables went on a mission to gain a bigger audience but failed. Giving the film a lower age rating means the battle scenes appear more watered down which ultimately effected my enjoyment of the movie. The huge cast means more interesting characters e.g. Wesley Snipes gets next to nothing to do. The new younger additions are not necessary as they bring nothing to the film and I had much more fun watching the characters we have come to know and enjoy in the opening scenes.

The Expendables 3 is harmless fun but the novelty is waring thin. The first film felt experimental and the sequel was a slight progression but this third film is a definite step down. Stallone and the usual faces return whilst the new additions are a mixed bag. Gibson is the standout and it's fun to see Banderas, Snipes & Ford. But the unknown youngsters are awful. I've always championed the idea of the Expendables, but the lower certification here loses sight of the target audience and fans.

Sly's too in love with this world, these characters, and (perhaps most crucially) this latest meal ticket of his to risk doing anything potent or newsworthy with it. Therefore, EXPENDABLES 3 is just like the first two EXPENDABLES movies, except this time, there are more expendables. I didn't really like any of the new expendables, except for Snipes. And Banderas. Banderas was funny.

While the 2nd had the franchise trending upward, this took a step back. I like the additions of Snipes and Ford, they're more my kind of action heroes, however one redeemable thing that made these films watchable (kind of) was it can go balls to the wall given its R rating, being PG-13 I feel everything is watered down. Watching this compared to the others is like listening to a censored Eminem record, wasn't great to begin with, and even worse taking out what makes it its identity.

It starts off good, I enjoyed the first 15 minutes. The addition of Wesley Snipes is promising and it looks like we're in for another fun ride. Then it gets boring. Really boring. About an hour is spent without the Expendables crew, instead focusing on a new crew where the highlight is Kellan fucking Lutz. Give me a break. Did they use up the budget in the first 15 minutes? What's the point of that opening sequence if we're not going to see any of those characters for the majority of the film?

Cringy pseudo-macho celebrities make dick joke cameos for two hours. The rare actual action sequences are filled with headache inducing camera cuts. Stallone is still a charisma vacuum and a wooden actor. Lost it at how getting a new black actor in the main cast means they off the other one, who needs representation anyway.

I'm not sure if this one was any better or worse than the previous two, but it did feel more dull. The plot is weak, the dialogue is terrible and riddled with cliché, and there's a fair amount of very poor CGI and green screen. The action didn't do anything for me, either. The young cast they brought in were totally unnecessary and bland. I'm sure it won't be, but I hope this will be the last entry in this franchise.

It's a shame. The second movie was a giant step into the right direction ! This one tries again to use the mercenary blues as a plot, this does not work. It kind of falls in between the first and the second. While the good parts shined a little more in the second installment, the third isn't as bad as the first. For such a star-studded film, "The Expendables 3" is quite average. It is definitely overlong - at times almost boring even - and full of redundant ideas, sketchy characters and mostly standard action. There are a few exciting moments as well as enjoyable turns by Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson and, surprisingly, Antonio Banderas, but they fail to shake off the impression of a two-hour-long circlejerk.

Barney (Sylvester Stallone) is back with a new mission. It turns out that the evil Stonebanks (Mel Gibson) is not actually dead, as was believed. Now his orders from CIA agent Max Drummer (Harrison Ford) are to bring Stonebanks to the law alive to be tried for war crimes. Barney doesn't want to see his aging companions get killed, so he retires them from the group and hires new, younger team members. But after his original companions reason with him, Barney agrees to accept their help, too.

This isn't a throw-away sequel. I'll admit, I didn't really love the last Expendables movie, except for Chuck Norris being completely awesome. This film didn't have Chuck, but it did bring in a huge new cast including Terry Crews and Ronda Rousey. I was happy to see a female action star brought in. Rousey didn't always do a great acting job but she really knows how to kick butt and have a dazzling smile at the same time...

I watch this series not for the acting or story but to watch the action stars I grew up watching tear shit up, that being said there is a distinct lack of that in this movie as they spend entirely too much time introducing the "next generation" and not enough time on the characters that I paid to see.

Franchise fatigue has officially set in, but the whole Expendables concept was deeply flawed from the get-go outside the realm of marketing. While more technically impressive than its predecessors, EX.3 still suffers from the same hasty, over crowded feel that is akin to playing with all of your action figures simultaneously under strict duress. Up until this point, Sly has banked on nostalgia to pull the masses in, but that strategy has now reached its natural limit. Next stop: retirement.

Expendables should be renamed "Wasted Opportunity" because what is the fucking point of having all these action stars when only a few guys get most of the screen time? Instead of playing to strengths Stallone just marches out his action buddies to do callbacks to their movie career. Yay. A lot better than the previous one. My points is because of iconic actors and great action. Sadly great action doesn't replace even a decent story telling. Back in the day, the great action movies had something to say. This doesn't even try to say anything. If Sylvester Stallone's character would been dead in half way of the movie, it wouldn't bothered me. That's because I didn't care any of the characters and that major problem is caused by the bad script.
