A movie for kids with tits. Nice.

The lead actress has some poise and charisma but really this is just a day out for the special effects team, with a paper-thin story plagued by weak subplots and inane peripheral characters. Nice idea to bring this Indiana Croft character to the screen, but a very disappointing outcome given Besson's reputation.

This film doesn't stray too far from its comic origin, in that it embraces its ridiculousness resulting in a fun, energetic and entertaining movie. Bourgoin as the titular character does a great job, and Besson's style lends itself well to the material. The film does suffer from a few pacing issues and the CGI won't age well, but the humour throughout makes up for it.

Funky, smart, cheeky, and entertaining. The actress plays this role well. I wanted to see Part 2 of this movie. I could not predict where this movie was going, which is a good thing.

Cloyingly precious and french in the worst way. We know from The 5th Element that Besson can pull off whimsy, but while this is nowhere near as bad as Arthur and the Whogivesafucks, he's still doing it wrong.

There's definitely some issues: cliches all over the place, the pacing is off at times, and the ending is an extreme let down, but there's a lot of fun to be had from this movie. Perfect for fans of quirky humor and the absurdity that comes from having mummies, a pterodactyl, possession and fatal tennis injuries all in one film.

Worst tennis accident ever. Otherwise this is a rather tiresome mixture of Indiana Jones and Night a the Museum with few action scenes and no climax.

Not recommended for kids or adults with tennis phobias but still heck-u-entertaining.

It may be a little hokey, but it's also charmingly silly, and Adèle is a superbly compelling central character, as dry, yet sweet, as her name suggests. The film is quick, funny, and daft—a winning combination as steered by Bourgoin's protagonist.

Strange structure. At first I was wondering if it was a French take on The Mummy (1999) with some kid-oriented humour, but then one get surprised by the changes in tone and themes. Yeah, too many murders, it is for adults after all. The lore was interesting too in the end, even the movie seemed to be two different ones linked together. Not the best but not bad, odd enough to keep you watching and wondering

A witty talking, strong headed heroine and charming Luc Besson storytelling. I was not that pleased with the CG, humor was not always for my taste and there was plot holes I did not like. But still there was incredible joyful voice acting that I pass the minuses. I expected more of Mathieu Amalric also. The result did not reached The Fifth Element quality.

The promise of a strong female lead made me hopeful I'd found an action-comedy I could share with my niece, but the film makers seemed terribly hard pressed to find any other women to interact with our heroine. Much as in Star Wars and Tomb Raider, a single tough heroine doesn't compensate for a story which is otherwise told through men. By the time Adele strips for the camera and takes a bath for our benefit, I was already so bored with all the weak comedy scenes in it that I switched it off.

At times it's charmingly light-hearted, but it often crosses that line into a tone that's so farcical it broke my ability to suspend disbelief. The prison-break sequence is way too long considering how hackneyed the joke is, and the CGI mummies must have been an homage to some traditional French comedy performance style that I didn't get because what the fuck. Honestly it mostly gets by on Bourgain's delightful performance; without her the whole thing would be too ridiculous to even contemplate.

A bit too Bessonish, thus couldn't be great. Meaning too much "french humour", which ruins most of the movie. If I'm specific, the mummies and hunter are most problematic. They should have been frightful and not so childish. Or even better, they should be cut out.

Based on a comic series it has everything it should have - quirky characters, obviously ridiculous moments and little jokes that work well.

Luc Besson's humor shows a more pronounced and awkward juvenile delinquency than even Fifth Element, which is a shame, because this material does have its qualifications for greatness. I don't even mind French-speaking highfalutin CGI mummy types or pterodactyl taming - just the overall filmmaking arrogance, partially due to no thread or rhyme or purpose to these shenanigans - that makes some beats side-eyes-ingly unfunny.

Started w such promise. I thought it was going to be a quirky Amelie meets Indiana Jones (female redux). Unfortunately, it turned more into a sappy Night at the Museum. A let-down in the end.

Overall Enjoyment: 10/40, Plot/Themes: 5/20, Cinematography/Direction: 5/20, Acting/Writing: 10/20 This movie attempted to be some sort of light-hearted Indiana Jones meets "strange quirky girl" sterotype, but it failed on both levels. The adventure scenes weren't very entertaining, her behavior wasn't very funny, and the two didn't mix well at all. They should have focused on just one aspect, and maybe then they would have made a decent movie.
