As with L'Iceberg, this feels uncannily like an Aki Kaurismaki film albeit with lighter, sillier slapstick humor. Fortunately it's still dry and deadpan enough to (barely) avoid the abject cloying whimsy of, say, Jean-Pierre Jeunet (although parts come close). It's essentially a series of wildly uneven sight gags, some quite technically impressive, although as with what i've seen of Jacques Tati the style of humor doesn't do much for me even as i admire the execution.

Comparisons to Jaques Tati are somewhat apt, but I would add Jeunet and Caro's *Delicatessen* (I also agree with comparisons to Kaurismaki.)The two leads are lanky and gangly and the filmmakers use to full comedic effect. The whimsy, charm and humor worked well at times (my children enjoyed many of these moments), but at other times fell a little flat.

This film revels in its unconventionality and was off to a wonderful start yet eventually crumbles under its own weight after paralleling its supernatural features (based on a logical interpretation) to reality. That part worked just fine, but the film continues to juggle both genres nonetheless. And yeah, you deserve to go to jail for driving under the influence while leaving your baby on the trunk of a car... idiots.

Some good old fashioned physical humor. There's a cleverness to the humor here, which mostly comes from playing with repetition and downright absurd (and surprisingly edgy) sequences, often with neat uses of practical effects. It feels pretty reminiscent of Keaton or Tati at its best, but for me, it occasionally tripped over the "awkwardly detached from reality" line a few times. But hey, I'm not a fan of slapstick, so all things considered, this sat well with me.

Very meh all around. Didn't elicit any laughs, a few chuckles.

Dominique Abel and Fiona Gordon here are the reincarnation of Jacques Tati, and they are totally delightful as Dom and Fiona. A unique film making duo who realise their love and expertise for theatre in cinematic form. Most importantly, they harness the visual and auditory affordances of film to achieve what can not be done on the stage.
