I didn't know anything about this except that it was a drama, so I went in mostly blind. Ortega deserves a lot of the credit for why this succeeds, because she managed to hit the grief notes (sometimes being mean, distant, sad), but never lost my sympathy because she was also an awkwardly charming and pretty funny teen. It will be a performance worth remembering by the end of 2022. The writing was also rock solid, nailing the message and the dialogue (as cringey as teens sometimes are).

Fantastic lead performance by Jenna Ortega. One to watch. Very authentic and natural.

Although I think the film could have been written better in some ways, it's Megan Park's directorial debut and a big step forward for her career. The Fallout is an emotionally compelling, natural, heartfelt drama with interesting characters. Jenna Ortega's lead performance was really good.

Ties everything up a little too neatly but aside from that it’s good. A decent portrayal of how trauma bonds certain people and pulls you away from others. Enjoyed it the most when it’s the two main characters vibing at the house.

I figured a movie about kids dealing with the trauma of a school shooting was coming soon. Not too bad and a decent examination of trauma and the bonds broken/built within. Still always laugh when like the nerdy-awkward girl is played by some like bordering on fashion model looking person

A nicely acted teenage drama with an intense scene in the first act.

Pretty well acted and immersive story dealing w difficult subject matter. The abject horror they feel at the outset is palpable and well portrayed. There were some slow parts, but overall this was worth the watch. Fun fact: Maddie Ziegler who plays Mia is the girl from the Sia music videos (most famously "Chandelier"). 7.4 for me.

"The Fallout" is a powerful and moving film that tackles a difficult subject matter with sensitivity and empathy. Megan Park's direction and Jenna Ortega's performance make for an unforgettable cinematic experience. The film is a searing indictment of our country's ongoing epidemic of school shootings, and it is a must-watch for anyone seeking to understand the lasting impact of gun violence on individuals and communities.

This is an amazing coming-of-age drama that's wrapped in recent world issues and trauma coating. But it does go beyond it and is never preachy about the initiating event.

Despite all of its rough edges, The Fallout succeeds in what it is attempting to do, chiefly due to Jenna Ortega's groundbreaking performance.

Jenna Ortega bears the immense weight of taking sensitive subject matter and conveying the heaviness of it. She does just that as this movie shows the world what violence can do to shape someone. It is powerful, thought provoking and uncomfortable at times. Very timely and effective movie that pulls on every emotion. Fear, anxiety, sadness, loss, grief it is all on display. These actors all do an amazing job portraying how hard it is to live after something like this.
