This is worth a watch for the Bacall of it all. The melodrama is rich and it is nice to see her front and center for the whole film. The film is made like a year before her High Point Coffee commercials so there is that tickle every time she gets big...which is often. I wish Michael Biehn was a little more unhinged which would have made the horror of this a bit punchier.

Pretty good slasher film, elevated by the screen presence of Lauren Bacall, and sterling support from James Garner as her ex-husband, and the always wonderful Maureen Stapleton (her and Bacall make a great 'bitchy old women' double act!). Michael Biehn gives a typical one-note performance as the obsessed fan, but it *is* great to see Lauren strutting her stuff in a rare starring role. Recommended for fans of Bacall and campy melodrama.

Cast is good, specially Biehn, but fact it this feels mostly a hit and miss -- the story between Sally Ross and her ex feels so out of touch with the rest of the film -- and even a bit bloated for a 94min flick. There are so many better films with the same plot, like the masterpiece The King of Comedy. Even Tony Scott's The Fan seems better.
