A very interesting premise done right up until the ending where it kind of falls apart. Great idea that doesnt live up to its potential.

Abhorring pacing leaves this movie completely barren. The story was so hard to follow I actually went into a catatonic state and began drooling on myself.

While the idea is quite good, the way it's developed and how they fail to engage the viewer, not trying to go deeper in the sci-fi issue and just making it a boring and predictable thriller. Another good sci-fi idea wasted...

I liked this movie, but i also think it was sort of unfinished and the whole idea of cutting could have had a much cooler plot...Good movie still, every movie can be better.

It wasn't incredibly entertaining. It moved a bit slow, but the premise is thought-provoking. Overall, I just didn't buy it and when the credits rolled I wondered what the point was.

Fascinating flick, totally different to ANYTHING I've seen Williams in prior. And all the better for it, he shines

A very interesting premise and a great performance by Robin Williams, but the film just doesn't hold up under repeat viewings.

Sometimes we find a movie that has an idea so intriguing that it just can't fail to be great - yet the director still finds a way to screw it up. The Final Cut explores the idea, "If every moment of your life was recorded on camera, would you live differently?" While you might expect a focus on the changes to society this technology engenders, instead, it turns out that the entire purpose of a camera implanted in you at birth is to have a paltry video "rememory" of your life at your funeral!!!!

Yeah it basically amounts to a groan-inducing punchline, but it is a serviceable piece of Sci-Fi and nice to see Robin Williams doing something other than making authority figures groan.

This technology must NEVER happen. It's one thing to delete your browser history, but damn... A great idea, but like a bad golf swing it has no follow trough.

Even resisting low-rating for what it isn't -for wasting an interesting premise- it was a mess.

Watched it with the sound off the other day and discovered the visuals aren't actually that good - cinematography & storyboard are mediocre. Which means the underlying story, concept, acting and dialogue are all that much better. Immensely sympathetic & complex hero. Williams really "got" this character & brought him painfully to life. I think it's his best role ever.
