The First Deadly Sin

So happy Sinatra came back to make this one. He is the movie! Very good performance and in a quiet and subtle way. Also, a really solid serial killer movie. A similar movie is The Pledge, with Jack Nicholson. Retiring detective driven to finish that last important case.

Frank Sinatra gives an affecting performance in what turned out to be his final starring role in a film. He plays Detective Edmund X. Delaney, who is completing his last case before retirement while his wife lies dying in the hospital. While Faye Dunaway is really wasted as the bedridden wife (why not do one flashback scene?), Sinatra is aided by a good supporting cast including Brenda Vaccaro and Martin Gable. A worthwhile effort.
