Pretty crazy fun DC movie that ticks a lot of boxes for me, but it’s kind of all over the place and maybe a tad too long. The CGI was pretty ropey in many parts and the humour sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t.

A step in the right direction. I don’t hate these DC movies (loved some of them even), but this universe probably needs the redo that’s coming. This is an honestly solid Flash/Barry Allen movie. Miller brought of the quips and charm of the character to life really well. The multiverse plot carried actual weight, and led to a shocking final act and an emotionally satisfying finale. Effects are extremely inconsistent and some of the jokes don’t quite work, but it’s well made. Loved the acting.

The Flash parts are one of the ugliest movies ever made just the worst effects you’ve ever seen vomited all over an IMAX screen to mix horrifically with CGI corpses. Hard to find cult leader groomer Ezra Miller acting goofy and wacky at all endearing. The Batman and Supergirl parts are generally less ugly but the latter is barely a character and Keaton holds the former aloft single-handedly. A couple of good jokes. Rest in Piss Snyderverse this was still better than Man of Steel

I'm glad I didn't listen to the unnecessary hateful comments on The Flash, because I think the movie is good. Despite there were some problems with the story and visual effects, I definitely had a great time. The jokes are hilarious, the references are cheerful, the surprises are spot on, the emotional side is the best, and the action is awesome. I wish they had made the duration of this film 3 hours, I couldn't get enough of any of the characters. (Cineverse Metrogarden - 06/17/2023)

The DCEU is deservedly on its death bed, a mismanaged corporate clusterfuck of a series. This odd film is in so many ways the unique product of the disaster that is the DCEU, but even with this being such a mess, I had fun with it. Loved seeing Keaton again, Calle was great and obvious deviant Miller is fine. Kicks along at a good pace and entertains despite its issues.

The Flash does have a pretty strong first half and overall story, but the rest drags in a weaker second half with horrible cgi cameos, and an increasingly grating performance from the lead actor. Somehow this was still better than most recent DC films.

It's hard not to view this as what it was supposed to be, and then see how it didn't really do that, but it's fine because I actually had quite a bit of fun with it. I like how they worked in the day that Zod came. I know I'm biased and that this isn't exactly the best superhero movie, but the jokes work, Miller has always been a good Flash, the action is fun, the story has some emotional oomph by the end.

I wasn't particularly a fan of the decision to make Flash permanent comic relief, but I'm a decades-long comic fan; Flashpoint; & Keaton's Batman, so it should come as no surprise that this got better & better for me as it went along. Most of Miller's Ain't-I-Adorably-Awkward comedy is cloying & fell flat for me, but his behaving like a true hero (even w/out superpowers) was a huge improvement. And of course Keaton; all the callbacks; cameos; & multiverse parallels serviced this fan really well.

Over all I think this was good. Several plot holes if you're looking, and some cheesy CGI stuff. But, overall I think it was a very good story line and concept. Not a fan of Ezra Miller and I think Flash could have been much better casted here.

As an apologist of DC movies, I find this movie appalling. Terrible looking CGI aside, this is a sequel to the Josstice League as it is plagued by infantile & crude jokes. James Gunn has completely massacred this title and his hatred and lack of understanding for these characters is evident - e.g., Aquaman and The Flash himself who's neither the DCEU, nor the comic Flash. Too many bad jokes, too little of Flashpoint Paradox, too little closure to DCEU, looks like a mobile game, gross cameofest.

For a character with such a great history, and an army of colorful rogues, we get ... Zod? And a rehashed version of Man of Steel? And Goth Supergirl? And even with all those Superman elements, it somehow feels mostly like a Batman movie. The film had some things going for it... Doppelganger Barry was fun, and Ezra Miller didn't do a bad job. But I really would have loved to see a Flash movie.

This one has gotten an undeserved amount of hate, but I suspect it comes down to external factors and unfortunate timing more than anything else, which considering the plot, feels like some sort of vicious cosmic irony. The first ten minutes or so was the best justice league has been in this rendition (fun. remember fun? this was it) and that levity carried throughout. Sure, its an uneven ride, but I honestly think the Keaton bit had worked, had marketing not insisted on making him the USP.

Bad CGI scorpion king-level gummy faces just are horrific. But i'm afraid that was not the creators intention. I don't know if US filmmakers know how to do that shift in tone where things are funny, then tragic and then grim and funny again. Doubling down on the annoying antics of ezra miller was the worst decision. There is a scene in the movie where batman dumps a bunch of slop on a bowl and says that this is the multiverse. That says alot. This movie is bad in a way that is not enjoyable

AKA "The Flash Runs Headlong Into The Uncanny Valley". The great potential for the film is absolutely savaged by the weak CG characters in the third act. I thought everyone had learned their lesson trying to bring back Princess Leia, but alas no...sadly, as a society we've decided to merge the category of film with in-game cutscene.

Was it always the plan for the Flash to play second banana for long stretches of his own movie? You can squint and see the outline of a good movie here, but the energy and momentum of its first act is set aside to force-feed us DC reheated leftovers that ultimately go nowhere. Should've stayed in the synergistic doggy bag.

The Flash is muddy to put it best. It is not a masterpiece like some are saying and it is not garbage like others are claiming. It misses the mark on answering any lingering questions fans have. The action sequences were great, the writing was hit and miss. The emotional beats really hit home but the humor was less than impressive and very juvenile to say the least. I found myself uninterested in Barry Allen because it didn't feel like Barry Allen. It felt more like Bart Allen from the comics.

"The Flash" is a standout offering from DC, with a masterful handling of time travel and intersecting timelines, engaging narrative, and a balanced tone of humor and heart. However, the inconsistent CGI, heavy reliance on references to past DC films, and fan-service cameos detract from the overall experience. Additionally, the controversy surrounding lead actor Ezra Miller casts a shadow over the film.

It’s somewhat disconcerting watching this immediately after seeing SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME, given the way that both films use magical explanations as a way to bring together and have fun with previous incarnations of characters from their respective lineages. This one does have two or three pretty good laughs, but it's not enough to avoid the feeling that everything is rather laboured, has been done too many times and owes too much to precursors and rivals. Attempts at sentiment are ineffective.

I was going to check out after the falling babies scene, but then realized it wasn't taking itself seriously the entire film. Especially once Miller interacts with his 18-year-old self, I did laugh at quite a few gags and plot turns till the end. It's message about the "multiverse" is apropos considering this definitely spells the end of this iteration of Flash (too bad about Miller's personal issues), and possibly the end of this DCU Justice League.

Exasperating, and by the time a certain not-so-secret multiversal-variant pops in, I was fully checked out. The last hour is one of the most abominably bad CG-hellscape finales the superhero genre has ever produced. Started out great, despite the shaky effects, but got more bland as it went on. Even with the return of Keaton's Batman. The effects in the final act made me appreciate Quantumania a little more. That one emotional scene near the end is pretty much the only thing that got this up to a three star rating. Although I kinda wish I could see what the next movie would look like after THAT cliffhanger.

Perhaps because I had heard an overwhelming amount of comments about how terrible this is, I found it a positive surprise and am kind of surprised by the negativity. Overall, I don't think it's any or worse than most DC movies. The big plus this has going for it is that, unlike most, this one has an interesting idea. It's not executed well, and the story makes no sense, but the others are kind of the same but without that idea. I will say, though, that the alt Barry is exceptionally annoying.

Typical DCEU mess, but hey, this could've been so much worse. If the action feels clumsy and generic, the multiverse stuff looks fun as hell -- we even get to finally see Nicolas Cage as Superman! -- and you just can't complain about these many Batmans hanging around -- Keaton is just having the time of his life here.

Erratic and arguably nonsensical but certainly not boring, kept my attention the whole time. Tbh I don’t have that much Burton-Batman nostalgia but Keaton was cool to see all the same. Between this and Spider-Man No Way Home I feel like the movies are getting a bit heavy handed about how trying to alter time is bad; I wanna make a movie where someone goes back to change time and everything goes just fantastic and it was a really good decision.

Controversy aside, I really liked Miller in this, granted I’ve always liked dual roles in film. It’s a lot of fun for most of its runtime, although the third act is massively overstuffed (sometimes less is more). Luckily the actual ending itself is pretty solid. The humor is a bit overdone, but I liked a good portion of it. CGI ranges from passable to dated by twenty years. Overall I had a good time with it, although it’s not exactly essential viewing.

Why are the dialogues so abysmal, both in Marvel and DC? Cringe-y and awful, they really minimize any enjoyment to be had. The plot is fine, everyone is trying their luck with a time-travel story. Pretty much the same take on it, as Marvel had. Ezra Miller didn't feel right for the role, but I guess most actors would fail the obnoxious character.

The Flash is an enjoyable mess of a film that exists mainly as a surface level popcorn flick. It's pretty funny, the cast is likable, and the movie never is boring, but it doesn't really do much with its more complicated elements - the multiverse and time travel plot - and a lot of the emotional elements feels shoehorned in, save for a great scene near the end with Barry and his mom. The VFX are also surprisingly bad. I didn't regret watching it, but it's nowhere near the best of its genre.

Muschietti & a gaggle of writers adapt Flashpoint as a comedy that leans too heavily on nostalgia & CGI. Things I liked; bringing back Irons, Shannon and most importantly Keaton. Using the events of Man of Steel rather than a war between Atlanteans & Amazons was a tidier way to progress the plot. Things I didn't like; bring back everyone else apart from Cavill. Miller's still annoying. A half-hearted attempted at the Thomas Wayne storyline. The use of jokes to cover up a lack of thematic drive.

The Flash is a fine addition to the DC canon/universe. Admittedly, there is an underlying charm to some of it with some emotional weight, which feels fresh in the current state of the DCU. Miller for all of his faults, was fine, but Keaton ultimately steals the show here though and his presence really elevated this movie. Unfortunately, I don’t find Miller charismatic enough to carry a film, let alone two characters. With that and some bad CGI, and lack of stakes, I’m just not overly impressed.

There's always going to be something inherently... I dunno, 6/10 for me when it comes to DC's visuals. I just don't think they often meet the standard for the genre. That said, sometimes, they're as good as any other Superhero offering. Pretty emotional content for people (like me) who have lost a parent abruptly, and exploring what you'd be willing to do to to change that. They had to find a way to give James Gunn carte blanche to do whatever he wants from here, and I think they did that well!

The CGI is wonky at times, although it's apparently a stylistic choice, but still not great.
