A former railroad detective turned war hero returns to the job to help solve the robbery of a payroll and the possible murder of an employee. This is a fairly routine mystery divided into 6 chapters (so it could alternately be exhibited as a serial). The final chapter erupts into wonderfully implausible action that includes, among other things, a one-legged man riding a bicycle and shooting at the car he's pursuing with a gun (a ridiculously long barreled pistol) that's concealed in his crutch

The silent era was a terrible time for black actors in Hollywood. With so few jobs available for men and women of color it was only natural that the niche of the 'negro film' would emerge. A director that did try to make exclusive all-black films was Richard E. Norman. One of the few he did was The Flying Ace (1926), a mystery in uniform! Not amazing film making, but it's entertaining if you take it as pure pulp fiction. All action and to the point. Loved the crippled dude on his bike!
