The Forbidden Trail

This was released the same years as the leading actress Evelyn Nelson committed suicide. She was doing a lot of Jack Hoxie westerns at the time, but I'm not sure that's reason enough to kill oneself? Especially since those silent westerns were alright. This one starts out rather ordinary, but really picks up steam in the later stages. Fine stunts too! Hoxie was a terrific silent cowboy and this film shows it. The story sure could have used some work, but the two leads make the most of it.
