What if you were told that every moment you experienced and every memory you held dear never happened? In this psychological thriller, Telly Paretta (Moore) is tormented by the memory of her eight-year-old son's death in a plane crash 14 months ago. While trying to work through her grief, she is informed by her psychiatrist (Sinise) that she is suffering from delusions, that her son never existed and she is fabricating his memories. My first impression during the film was that the movie needs a Jerry Buckheimer touch, until Dominic West stepped in. Visual style was kind of okay and some cool aerial shooting.

I remember looking for this to rate it a while ago but ironically I had forgotten the title. I also thought it starred Jodie Foster which is probably why I had a hard time finding it and why despite being a phenomenal actress, Julianne Moore is still referred to as discount Jodie Foster by a lot of people.

I don't know what the fuck happened in this movie and I don't want to rewatch it to find out. I think aliens were involved, or schizophrenia, but my unyielding boredom made me forget.

Someone had a really good idea here, but at some point it got ruined. The acting is half-assed, and the ending seems like a last-minute wrap-up. There are points where I spy a gem of genious, but that gem is sitting in a pile of crap.

A passable Hollywood film with an interesting premise but a very horrible, horrible resolution. I'll say I was glad I watched most of it, but those last twenty minutes were extremely hard to bear. Also began the "passenger side view of a car wreck" angle that about a dozen commercials and lesser films exploited.

This movie was lamer than lame. At this day and age it is totally unacceptable. I could see it coming out of the 70s, when movies like this were popular ("The Blob", "It", "The Fog" -- etc), but... Ugh. It has a terrible ending, but the storyline is good. The part where it starts to get ridiculous is when they start to find out what has been happening.

It's perversely amusing for a while to watch this over qualified cast try to breathe life into a script that wouldn't stand up as a 90s TVM; Moore is her usual sterling self, and Woodard has some nice moments, even if her character is hilariously despatched in a shaggy dog way. While it's passably engaging enough, it is a shame that a potentially interesting "Body Snatchers" spin is developed in such a dull and confusing way - the premise has promise and it's sad to see it squandered like this.

If Julianne Moore weren't in this, it would be a great little thriller. Unfortunately, she brings expectations of better films, which makes this tame effort ultimately unsatisfying.

Starts out with an interesting premise, but it gets silly and stupid real quick. The plot is not only stupid, though: there is also not much of it. You know you're in trouble when your movie is only an hour and a half long, and it's still padded with unnecessary chases. Another drawback: I hated the unecessarily happy ending.Julianne Moore is good in this, but . . . who cares?

Best part: The part where the antagonist has to explain everything that happens in the movie because it makes absolutely no sense at all. His explanation doesnt help

"The Forgotten" is forgettable. The premise is awesome... a woman who thinks she had a son wakes up one day to find her memories untrustworthy... and you're thinking 'Wow, some serious mindf**k stuff coming up..." RIGHT? WRONG!!! After little more than a quarter into the movie, you know the psycho interpretation is wrong... and what it is replaced with is utter stupidity and banality -- too bad, cuz this was a real waste of talent -- moore and west must have really needed the dough..

The movie has a very distinct 'eerie' feeling about it which would have been awesome if it wasn't for ... well you'll have to see for yourself. If this movie had cut the last 30 minutes, it would have been one of the best thrillers ever, in the style of Stephan King. Now it's just an ok movie with a very, very deus-ex-machine ending to it.
