This was the third screen version of A.E.W. Mason's oft-filmed novel about one soldier's triumph over cowardice and was the last rendering during the silent era. Here, Richard Arlen stars as Harry Faversham, the British officer who resigns rather than fight against rebels in Egypt. (allrovi.com)

There really isn't any character development and Fay Wray & William Powell are barely even in the film however the pure spectacle and adventure of the story and action scene make up for the short falls. Not nearly as good as the '39 version but this is still a must see in my opinion.

Considered to being the last silent Hollywood blockbuster of the silent era. And this adventure film stars Richard Arlen who gets labeled a coward and want to prove to his friends that he's not! A action packed film that never stalls. This movie takes us from England to Africa, with white slave trade, desert ambushes and diving hippo attacks!!! Hardly a dull moment in sight! Might not be a movie that brings us too close to it's characters, but as a adventure film it brings the rest!
