The Frogmen

Decent enough film about the origins of Navy SEALs

Absolutely loved this WWII movie about a naval UDT (underwater detonation team). Plenty of unique action and the story has a lot of heart.

An engaging, believable, no-nonsense story of a specialist diving unit in the South Pacific in World War II. Not so much of the usual frills and no overt propaganda. The story is really about the relationship between a rather aloof but capable commander and his men. Well worth watching.

"The Frogmen" presents a story centered on leadership dynamics, set against the backdrop of war and featuring ample water action sequences. While the film holds your attention, it doesn't leave a lasting impression. Notably, it steers clear of the typical war movie trope of inserting a romantic subplot through flashbacks, which merits recognition.

Not without merit, but one I struggled to get into the excitement of. Goes for a silent sea suspense, and the acting is good in this. But it doesn't go for peak thrills, and I feel it could have had some because the foundation was laid.
