Why ghost stories are not horror. Starts ok, becomes one of those films which seem interestingly odd but you quickly realise 'oh, it is one of those movies...', after which everything that seemed superficially odd is clearly actually just filling out a very familiar set of moments, tropes, etcetera...Spoiler alert, yes, if you suspect they might be dead, you are right. It is one of those movies. As usual with a dull and familiar and ultimately reassuring i.e. non-horror theology. Not the worst.
