My grandmother used to say "You are not full, you have had elegant sufficiency". Well that doesn't quite work here does it you spiteful old hag, The Elegant Sufficiency Monty falls kinda flat dunnit. Anyway, there's a little bit of cock here, but not much in the way of balls.

An above-average, if very minor, male-bonding funhouse, that despite being nothing special, is pretty entertaining in these 91 minutes. The premise is extremely silly, but it sustains itself surprisingly well, significantly aided by a witty script, likable characters, a great cast, a killer soundtrack and of course amazing Scottish accents. Overall, fun movie all around, if totally forgettable.

This movie is proof why european film is superior in many ways to american! THe plot is wonderful, the concept so outrageous that hollywood would not make it, funny enough to make you roll on the floor but still touching and smart. a movie i will not forget.

Decent, average, ordinary film. As a fellow also on the dole, I thought some of the brief "men's only" meditation on the usefulness of unemployed people was thoughtful and resonating for me, but of course it makes way instead for some mediocre and rather dull humour, a very archetypal narrative and characterisation, not to mention some risque humour involving indecent exposure to kids that made me laugh more as a relief from the discomfort. Fun story

What can I say, I am a sucker for this movie. The story is a wee bit trite, but everyone in this film goes the extra mile to give pathos to the characters. Robert Carlisle gives us a performance from the other side of the world from his performance in Trainspotting. This movie makes me smile, so sue me.

Classic. The strenghts of this film coem from its writing, which is a good place for a film to plant its base. Builkt on top of that is good acting, and good characters. Not shot in a particuarly awe inspiring way, but that kind of makes it feel like a nice down to earth story.

It's an amusing concept but it seems like a gag that goes on forever. By the end of the film the entertainment aspect of it has been driven into the ground. It's pretty mediocre and I don't see how this received so much acclaim. Carlyle is good but he should return to his more intense roles.

This picture comes recommended by everyone, particularly by women. The accent is thick and difficult to understand, the story surprisingly believable and involving. A bit of clever stuff & even interesting stuff. No one is gonna really question the larger sexist role questions raised by the picture, which i think would have been more fascinating than a child custody battle. Amusing.

There's a secret acting clinic going on within THE FULL MONTY, which is otherwise some nonsensical feel-good pabulum that appropriates post-industrial depression for cheap laughs. It wouldn't come close to succeeding without the committed work of its cast, whose thinly-sketched characters have to turn on a dime from cartoonishly wacky or prideful to convincingly contemplative or remorseful.
