The Gallopin' Gaucho

Interesting animation and an even more interesting character concept for Mickey. One can clearly see that Mickey wasn't supposed to be a role model at first. Far more interesting to look at than later shorts IMO.

A somewhat entertaining short. Mickey once again takes part in some animal mistreatment just for the fun of it. Even in this short, where Mickey is clearly the good guy, his actions really make me wonder who decided to make Mickey such a pretentious asshole in the first Mickey shorts.. Oh well. It's not that great, anyway.

Mickey Mouse impersonating Douglas Fairbanks, one of my favourite people in all of cinema, while riding a rhea instead of a horse is the definition of cool.

This is surprisingly entertaining. I always enjoyed the MIckey character more before he became the ambassador of political correctness. I like him and the Disney cartoon regardless.

Pete kidnaps Minnie, takes her to a hotel and chains her to the wall...you know, for kids!

Wanted criminal Mickey "El Gaucho" Mouse resorts to the "Cantino Argentino" for some beer and tango, starches a drunk ostrich, and gets in a sword fight à la Zorro. In keeping with the early Disney philosophy of "What would Felix do?" he also accomplishes some improbable feats with his tail.
