As the madness that is this film went on there began to form an interesting idea of these really gross "kids" seeing through the ways beautiful people use moderately attractive people to do their bidding in a way that moderately attractive people never could. Then Windy Winston farted so hard a man passed out. The Garbage Pail Kids are always talking. Always. Like insane chatter from all of them every time they're on screen. Yes, I recommend it.

Just shit, absolute shit. Sitting around talking about the collectible cards would be more fun than watching this. EATING the collectible cards and then passing them undigested would be more fun than this.

I enjoy bad movies. I didn't enjoy this. I wouldn't want to meet any of those puppets in a dark room alone.

More like a garbage pail film.

Brought this to a "Bad Movie Night" some years back and it had a very singular effect on the audience: we all agreed to stop the movie midway through to go for a walk and get some fresh air. What a horribly messed-up movie. I had to buy it when the DVD came out though.

Fittingly, my 666th review, for the GPKs (and this film, for that matter) could have come from nowhere other than Hell. Played by actors in ghastly, dead-eyed suits, they're a bunch of dully unpleasant little bastards who help a stalkerish adolescent (Mackenzie Astin) "impress" a girl who is dating the delinquent who torments him. On it goes for 98 aching minutes, with a couple of songs, some hilarious 80s fashion, and a minimal plot. Of course nothing about it works. Of course it's a must-see.

Horrifying. Simply horrifying. 5 points for Tangerine's sexiness.

Looking like it went from concept to cinema in under a fortnight, describing this 'film' is as hard as watching it. So I'll just ponder what's worse: The acting? The micro-budget animatronics? The scenes where sod-all happens and time's wasted just for the hell of it? The simply unfunny 'gags' that are repeated ad nauseum? That utterly random break into song at one point? The fact that so little of it makes any fucking sense whatsoever? Probably the worst film ever made, but so bad it's AMAZING.

I'm usually pretty sympathetic towards bad films, but this has no right to exist. Fails on every level.

There were fun moments in this movie... it could have been a silly, stupid movie... it just got a bit too illogical and weird with the orphanage and dragged a bit... if it had been a half hour shorter, it might have been cute a goofy... but well.. the crushed friends of the Garbage Pail Kids were... not good. And the fashion/romance seemed to take too long.

F: The ugliest film of all time. Terrible acting, terrible costumes, terrible everything. This film is just pure disgusting.

Probably one of the most offensively tasteless films in all directions to have graced my eyes. Definitely not the actual worst, and anyway I tend to feast on crap like this with a nihilistic counter-cultural glee, so I find the revolting vibe easier going than some shitty lame vibe.

I'm kind of ashamed to admit I've seen this one. This was simply a lame-ass way to try to cash in on the Garbage Pail Kid phenomenon of the mid 1980's.

One of the worst films EVER. So obnoxious it's hard to even sit in the same room with it playing on somebody else's TV

The moral of the film is stated as "You can't change the way you look but you can change the way you behave". So, you may be stuck with being ugly on the outside but you can still be a good person. That is a good moral to teach but the Kids are ugly on the outside and also on the inside - they all have disgusting mannerisms which are not external ugly characteristics, but behavioural ones. Are they therefore supposed to represent the results of a bad example of their own moral code?

This film is a mess. It is too creepy to be a kids movie but not scary enough to be a horror film. The makers needed to pick a clearly direction and go with it. The lead actor and actress do not have good chemistry together. The script is bad. You are better off looking at the trading cards instead of watching this movie.

Not even bad in the way I wanted it to be bad. Fails on every conceivable level. This should have been disgusting and offensive, not boring.
