The Gendarme Gets Married

Save for the slightly boring and hysteria-heavy final act, the third installation in the Gendarme franchise is a winner. The opening sequence alone is not only as good as anything prior to this, but also a fine demonstration of the series's elements gelling more than before. The movie spends quite a lot of time outside of the police framework, a variation that works well, as does the foray into action represented by the frantic chase at the end. All in all, a successful continuation.
